The Grapefruit Diet is Back?

Recent Finding:  Study participants lost an average of 3.5 pounds  in 12 weeks by eating 1/2 a grapefruit with each meal, versus a group who followed the same diet but without the grapefruit.

Theory:  Grapefruit lowers insulin levels, which helps prevent sugar from being stored as fat. 

Caution:  Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interfere with some medications, such as statin drugs, so check with your doctor.
