my 2 year old is allergic to sesame and corn. we are apart of a delphia corn free forum; its helped me so much with learning everything for him.
http://forums.delphiforums.com/AvoidingCorn/start
its a crazy way to live. but everyday that I see articles like yours it gives me hope. we go through so much just with people not believeing that we are telling the truth; it even happens with medical professionals. the latest story about it is below. but as far as dealing with corn its really hard; even when you get the hang of it. products change, ingredients change; those companies don't let anyone know you just buy it one day and get corned then when you email them, they confirm that thy are no longer corn free. one of the hardest things to live with it is the constant fear of food and everything, even our tap water has corn in it. food used to be a safe thing but now we found out that corn and sesame was the reason my son wasn't growing (11 lbs and 23" at 13 months, he was 7 lbs and 19" at birth) since corn was in everything, his body would fight it. since his body was constantly fighting the formula and everything he would burn all the calories the food gave him. so he was constantly hungry but never gaining weight. it took until he was 18 months for a doctor to test for allergies. I also recently ran across an article about how they are going to start using corn to make plastic toys. so soon we will have to find a way to make our own toys also. I couldn't find that exact article again but I found this one talking about adding corn to plastic.

sorry this is so long, if you ever want to talk to someone about how their day is living corn free; feel free to email me.

liams latest dealing of corn non believer in medical field
my son recently had his first contact reaction from a pop corn machine at Scottish rites childrens hospital. you would think that they wouldn’t have a pop corn machine right next to the check in station. plus he has to deal with the corn all through the hospital because people buy it at checkout then take it up stairs to their appt. you would think a hospital would not have something like that there. we have also been told my the nutritionist at childrens hospital that we only needed to look out for like 12 ingredients; when I showed her my list that I watch out for she said that’s great. but if she was to give those out to parents it would overwhelm them too much so they start with that small list and if they still have reactions they work up to the full corn free list. made no sense to me; and made me glad that we had been living corn free for 1 month before going to see her so I knew better. ive had docs flat out tell me that corn is a “hypoallergic” food that’s why its in everything. when I go to these new doctors ive gotten so frustrated with them not believing its medically diagnosed (even though its in his file) that I had my doctor give me a copy of his allergy blood test showing his level to me moderately allergic. but since that blood test was 4 months ago; hes been getting even more sensitive. but if you ever wanna chat with people to really see how it is or if you have any questions please check out the avoiding corn forum.

I love any post about slow running. I will never be a 6 min miler more like 9-10, but have the endurance to go forever. I usually run 40-75 minutes 3-4 times per week. Seems to work well with all the old athletic injuries sustained over the years.Any more than that the joints start complaining.
